Living Room Living

What a glorious and trying few weeks it’s been here!

First, the glorious. Recently, a friend of mine had a dream in her heart from the Lord to initiate what she called “an Acts 2 experiment”. Her dream came from Acts 2:42-47. The early church was daily gathering in homes, devoting themselves to the teachings of the apostles, fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayers.

So for just over four weeks during July and August, we gathered in various homes for 30 consecutive days! I hosted numerous times and discovered that I truly love hosting people and cooking for them!

A handful of us had it in our hearts to keep doing this, so over the past few weeks, I’ve been so happy to host my friends many nights a week, cook for them and enjoy the sweetest and some of the most powerful times together in prayer and worship. It’s been beautiful! We have grown closer as friends, being bound together in God’s love and sharing what we have to help one another.

I believe this kind of lifestyle is what the Lord is calling us to as His body in this hour of history.

I’ve heard this same thing from many believers in different parts of the world recently and am sure that the living rooms of our homes will be a shelter in the times of shaking that are coming. The safety of gathering together as a spiritual family is God’s design, His blueprint for growing in love, wisdom and unity.

Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day {of the Lord} drawing near.”

Now for what’s been trying.

This past weekend, I moved out of this wonderful hosting space due to a change in upstairs tenants. I had been renting the basement apartment the past 6 months and am so grateful for my time here! It’s been healing, fruitful and restful for my soul & body.

As with anything in my life, I’m asking the Lord what is next. Currently, I’m staying with some friends who are like family for a few weeks. What’s after that? I know not. Yet :)

Our God is faithful to provide for us as we trust Him for what we need. He’s always taken care of me, even when it doesn’t make sense or look “normal”, and that’s ok with me. Always an adventure!

Would you pray for me?

I need:

-wisdom in my search for a place to live (I’m boldly asking the Lord for a home, a gathering place)

-financial partners for living expenses and updated musical equipment

-financial and prayer partners for my upcoming recording project that’s in process (which I’m very excited to share with you all soon!).

As usual, I’m in the prayer room, praying, worshiping and meditating on the word for hours most days of the week. That is my joy and delight. In fact, I lead my first 2-hour devo yesterday, and my violinist friend Alex played with me. It was such a rich time of worship and communion with the Lord together with those in the room.

Finally, I have a question for YOU:

If I were to do a worship night home tour, where I share my original songs and lead a night of worship in your living room or backyard, would you be interested?

I’m potentially looking at coming to Texas, Ohio, the Pacific Northwest and other states if there are people who would like to host. I’d love to hear back from you if you’re interested!

a peaceful park near downtown Kansas City where I enjoyed a Sunday afternoon recently

I pray you are comforted today by this truth today, as I have been often lately: Jesus is praying for us. Jesus is praying for you. Jesus is praying for me. Romans 8:31-39, Hebrews 7:11-28, John 2:1. May His word of truth wash over your soul, reminding you of His vast and undeniably rich love for you.
